Hydrogen Conditioning Using Nanoporous Inorganic Membranes

Carbon-based membranes were manufactured by deposition of a polymeric precursor on asymmetric porous, ceramic substrates with tube channel geometry followed pyrolysis. As precursor, an unsaturated polyester resin prepared was used. The the carbon results first short substrate geometries (105 mm long single-channel tube), further scaling-up 19-channel (250 and 600 length) successfully performed. synthesized show excellent separation properties regarding hydrogen/natural gas separation. molecular sieving effect detected via pressure rising method molecules different kinetic molecule diameters. sieve can be used at high temperatures pressures. tested in real natural environment.
